Announcing the news at the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) Convention in Boston yesterday (23 July), CWT says that ground transport, including rental cars and rail can account for 10% of overall travel costs in the US and even more in Europe.
”Our new ground transportation practice is a natural complement to our existing air and hotel consulting services,” said CWT vice president solutions group Americas, Nick Vournakis.”
Although newly-appointed CWT ground transportation practice managing director, Dave Kilduff, noted that ground transport did not merit the attention given to air and hotel spend, it nonetheless was an area that buyers need to look at in more depth.
”Travel buyers need to focus more on this area of their programme spend, though any one of them would tell you they simply don”t have the time,” said Kilduff, adding: ”CWT can not only take the load off their shoulders ” we”ll use our industry expertise to deliver measurable savings for each client.”
