Carlson Wagonlit Travel is piloting a mobile application that allows travellers to access their itineraries direct from their phones.
Developed with Rearden Commerce, an e-commerce platform company, CWT To Go uses CWT’s secure and automated message distribution facility. It allows travellers to verify flight status, check in, research alternate flights, review and select dining options and retrieve destination information such as weather details.
Travellers can also click to call a travel consultant directly to book or amend travel plans.
CWT To Go will be offered to travellers booking through any Global Distribution System or online, or on iPhone, BlackBerry or Android platforms.
The app is being piloted in the US during June on BlackBerry. It will be introduced on other platforms and in other countries in August.
“CWT To Go is designed to make the hectic life of the business traveller a bit easier,” said Douglas Anderson, CWT president and chief executive.
