Australia-based Corporate Travel Management (CTM) is expanding its network of independent travel advisors, 1000 Mile Travel Group, across the UK, with additional plans to launch in the US, the company announced on Friday (9 December).
The company, which acquired 1000 Mile Travel Group in July, said the expansion is in response to “strong SME travel management demand”.
CTM founder and managing director, Jamie Pherous, said the company has seen “unprecedented demand” for travel management services in the “unmanaged” SME segment due to increased complexities related to travel post-Covid.
“Small businesses are finding increased value in the expertise, support and negotiated deals available through CTM’s managed travel programmes,” he said. “However, they require a unique style of servicing and engagement due to their more flexible operational and support needs.”
1000 Mile Travel Group co-founder and CEO, Nicola Veltman, added that the company has experienced rapid growth following investments in “building critical partnerships and technology solutions”.
The network comprises more than 750 independent travel advisors across the UK, US and Australia, who will meet at the company’s first global conference in Hawaii in February.
Veltman and fellow co-founder Ben Ross recently relocated from Australia to Denver, Colorado, to establish the brand in North America and integrate CTM’s leisure host agency MTravel into the business.
