CTM has enhanced its mobile online booking tool Lightning to offer enhanced sustainability functions.
The travel management company announced at the Business Travel Show Europe in London today that it was adding Carbon Transfers to its mobile OBT.
Carbon Transfers allows travellers to transfer individual carbon budgets between each other when appropriate to better manage their organisation’s sustainability targets. CTM had already introduced this option to the Lightning web-based platform last year and it is now being added to the mobile app.
CTM customers can now see their carbon budgets in “real time” as flights, hotels and train bookings are added to the platform.
Salv Silvera, CTM’s general manager, southern England and client services, UK/Europe, said: “By highlighting to travellers and travel bookers how travel impacts the business’ sustainability goals at the point of search and booking, CTM is helping travel managers to influence behaviour, drive conversations with other stakeholders and demonstrate their contribution to company initiatives.”
CTM has also enhanced its Carbon Offsetting tool, which allows users to support multiple environment projects and split allowances, so that travellers (as well as organisations) can choose which initiatives are supported.
The Lightning booking platform already offers a Green Choice function allowing bookers to identify the most sustainable travel option in the search results.
