The number of business trips abroad by UK residents has continued to fall, according to the latest government figures.
UK residents made 450,000 business trips in July – down by 14.6 per cent from 527,000 trips during the same month in 2012, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Overall this year, overseas business trips from the UK are down by 6 per cent year-on-year to a total of 3.81 million visits between January and July.
Visits to the UK by overseas residents also fell in July by 5.7 per cent to 570,000 from 605,000 in July 2012. Although the numbers have still risen by 6 per cent to 4.58 million visits during the first seven months of this year.
