The bi-monthly gathering of business travel professionals in London has been postponed.
The event was due to take place this evening (August 9) at Brown’s in Tower Bridge, an area where looting of shops was reported last night.
Rioting in the capital over the past three nights has left many people wary of staying out late, with delays and cancellations on local transport.
David Chapple, event director for the Business Travel and Meetings Show, who is involved in running Business Travel Club, said the event would be rescheduled for August 16.
“We’ve decided to postpone this evening’s BT Club following the civil unrest in London: the safety of our guests is paramount and will always remain our priority,” he said.
“The easiest way to keep up to date with news on the club is to join the Business Travel Club group on LinkedIn.”
