The Business Travel Association (BTA) has issued a new white
paper that provides support for TMCs, customers, buyers and suppliers involved
in the request for proposal (RFP) process. It offers step-by-step guidance
illustrating what is involved in running a successful TMC RFP, and how to achieve
it.
The Time for Change white paper, developed in partnership
with consultants Nina & Pinta, covers a range of topics including:
- Why
corporates should go to market and engage TMCs
-
Understanding
the business requirements and objectives of the RFP for TMC services
-
Top tips
for buyers in understanding the impact that travel has, and what matters in
terms of TMC service requirements
-
Deciding
on who to invite to RFP and keeping abreast of the market landscape
Clive Wratten, CEO of the BTA, said: “The impact of Covid on
corporate travel practices has been significant, long lasting and in some
cases, permanent – so it is crucial we support our industry to grow and
adapt.
“The BTA’s latest industry guidance is designed to explore
the often onerous and lengthy TMC RFP process, and discusses how we can make
this more accessible, sustainable and successful for everyone.
“We hope the white paper can be a benchmark adopted across
the business travel sector, to enable best practice for TMCs and their
stakeholders to support a robust return to travel.”
Research for the Business Travel Show Europe, which starts
today, found that a quarter of companies have changed TMC in the past year.
