BCD Meetings & Events has acquired fellow MICE agency Grass Roots for an undisclosed sum from Blackhawk Network.
Grass Roots, which has offices in the UK, US, Germany, Switzerland and Singapore, manages more than £150 million in meeting expenditure and employs 220 people.
BCD M&E is part of the BCD Group and is a sister company to travel management specialist BCD Travel. The company said the Grass Roots acquisition would “strengthen and diversify BCD M&E’s global service offering”.
Scott Graf, global president of BCD M&E, said: “We have been strategically investing to grow our global presence and service offering over the last three years.
“This acquisition is about strengthening local event operations, offering new venue sourcing technology and expanding our delegate management solution.”
Financial technology company Blackhawk Network only acquired Grass Roots last year and already revealed its intention to sell the firm’s meetings and events division.
David Taylor, managing director of Grass Roots Meetings & Events, added: “Being a part of a global organisation that is focused on being a leader in corporate meetings and events will open new doors of opportunity for both our customers and our employees.”
