BCD's Kessie Bratko, senior executive at the new centre
BCD Travel has launched a centre of excellence to support the more than 100 companies in the healthcare and life sciences sector that it counts as clients, including medical device companies, biotechs, hospital systems, contract research organisations and insurers. The TMC also claims to service 90 per cent of the top 20 pharma companies around the world.
The new centre is an expansion of BCD's meetings and events arm’s existing offering for the sector but now brings that together with services from BCD Travel itself as well as consulting arm Advito.
The company said, “Life sciences organisations need a different kind of support, from programme design to technology, traveller experience to consultation. That’s why BCD is working across our organisation to provide cohesion of strategy, best practices and consultation to our customers.”
Kessie Bratko, senior vice president of BCD’s global client team and senior executive for the new centre, said: “We are excited to launch a Life Sciences Centre of Excellence, one that builds upon BCD Meetings & Events’ focus and together allows us to channel our expertise into global, compliant and comprehensive solutions that solve our customers’ unique and complex programme needs.”
The company says it is expanding its offering because of the “unique challenges” faced by the sector during the pandemic.
Paige Furr, global business service, enterprise travel and meetings at Pfizer, said: “BCD demonstrates strategic leadership, innovation, and collaboration that reaches far beyond the confines of traditional travel and meetings management.
“We applaud BCD for evolving their Life Sciences Centre of Excellence during a pandemic, illustrating that their focus on the voice of the customer has not wavered in uncertain times. The heightened focus on patient-centricity shows leadership and is squarely in line with what’s most important to us.”
