Global travel management company BCD Travel is expanding the ‘anywhere’ booking capabilities of its TripSource platform in the UK and Ireland, adding air reservation functionality.
The new booking capability, which is available on any connected device including smartphones, tablets and computers, is being put on display for the first time at BCD Travel’s stand (B320) at the Business Travel Show at London’s Olympia.
TripSource displays flight shopping results aggregated from multiple content sources and offers a choice of booking options including low-cost carriers and BCD’s preferred inventory, as well as exclusive negotiated corporate fares. Travellers and arrangers will also see luggage information, in-flight amenities, cancellation and rebooking terms and conditions – all according to travel policy, says BCD.
The flight-booking functionality adds to TripSource’s existing hotel reservation capabilities, while car and ground options are planned to be rolled out this year and rail following.
BCD says the developments are a direct result of its strategic focus on and investment in “improving the depth and breadth of content for travellers and cost savings for their companies”.
Yannis Karmis, senior VP of product planning and development, said: “Business travellers, like everyone else, are looking for ways to simplify. The easier a platform is to use, the more likely people are to use it. We want to make it as easy and pleasant to book the company’s preferred air and hotel content as it is to buy a mobile charger on Amazon Prime.”
