Buying Business Travel celebrated a night of spectacular success at the Business Travel Journalism Awards, winning a host of trophies at the annual gala event held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom.
Buying Business Travel won Editorial Team of the Year – Business Travel, and Supplement of the Year for the annual Corporate Cards supplement , and Paul Revel won Editor of the Year.
BBT’s feature writers had a winning night, picking up several awards:
- Meetings & Events Journalist of the Year - Catherine Chetwynd for her feature Moving into meetings about TMCs moving into the meetings & events arena
- Business Travel Features Journalist of the Year - Destination: Gary Noakes for his feature on the importance of China's secondary cities
- Business Travel Features Journalist of the Year - Industry Trends: Felicity Cousins for her feature on the potential of augmented reality for business travel
- Business Travel Features Journalist of the Year - Accommodation: David Churchill for his feature on hygiene issues in hotels
On sister title Business Traveller, art director Annie Harris collected Designer of the Year, and Jenny Southan won Technology Features Writer of the Year.
Julian Gregory is managing director of Panacea Publishing, which owns both Buying Business Travel and Business Traveller.
He said: "I am delighted that both our in-house editorial teams and freelance contributors have been acknowledged by the industry. These well-deserved awards are a testament to the hard work and talent that goes into our titles."
The Business Travel Journalism Awards is organised by Carlson Wagonlit Travel, and judged by an independent panel of eminent industry experts. Guests at the black-tie gala evening enjoyed a drinks reception, three-course meal and entertainment.
