British Airways is to introduce a new policy that will penalise agencies
that engage in excessive churning practices – the repeated cancellation and
rebooking of the same itinerary for the same passenger independent of the class
and PNR to circumvent or extend ticketing time limits, hold inventory, and/or
find a lower booking class.
Starting 1 October 2021, the airline will allow a maximum of four
rebookings; any additional rebooked and cancelled segments will be considered
excessive churning and will be subject to an agency debit memo (ADM) of
£5 or local equivalent.
