Applehouse Travel has become the latest business travel agency to join the GTMC in the last few weeks.
Applehouse, which is part of successful leisure travel agency Southall Travel, is the fourth TMC to join the guild this year following Meon Valley Business Travel plus Uniglobe members Top Flight Travel and Preferred Travel.
The TMC is based in Iver, Buckinghamshire, near Heathrow, and has a team of UK-based corporate travel consultants. Applehouse’s decision to join the GTMC takes the guild’s TMC members up to 40 firms.
Southall Travel and Applehouse managing director Kuljinder Bahia said: “We recognise the skill and expertise within the GTMC, which will provide a significant benefit, not only to us as an organisation but ultimately to our customers.”
GTMC chief executive Paul Wait added: “Southall Travel Group is a huge success story and its corporate travel division Applehouse Travel is growing fast under the management of Kuljinder Bahia - one of the most respected leaders in the travel industry.”
Gatwick has also joined the GTMC as the first airport partner. The move is part of the Sussex airport’s attempts to attract more business travellers.
Guy Stephenson, Gatwick’s chief commercial officer, said: “Gatwick and the GTMC are pleased to be forging a partnership to grow opportunities to serve the business traveller.
“Gatwick shares the GTMC vision that it is key to deliver the best standard of service, quality and value to the business traveller and will continue to work together to make this a reality.”
