Major train package to cut costs
American Express has launched a new package to help cut rail costs for business travellers in Germany.
The major part of the new deal is an online booking portal, AX RailHub which will give bookers access to all train tickets in the country "at the lowest possible rate."
The second part is the package is the appointment of a team of experts to deal with queries on rail travel management.
The new portal will let travellers book and print either national or international tickets at any location and at any time up until ten minutes before departure.
Amex said that by combining "special fares" offered by Deutsche Bahn, the German national rail network, with preferential rates for business travellers, fares would be the "lowest possible."
The TMC also said all unused tickets would be refunded.
Kaveh Atrak, Amex's vp and general manager for Germany, said: "Driving down costs while retaining business critical travel has become even more pressing for many companies in the current economic environment and, as a result we're seeing an uplift in rail travel."
