American Express has unveiled upgrades to its virtual lodge account product, Business Travel Account (BTA).
BTAConnect will allow users to reconcile their travel and expense accounts online and give them access to company travel data.
The new system will also enable companies to download Excel, Access and PDF versions of their statements.
The data is available for up to 13 months, allowing firms to benchmark existing travel costs online.
Amex said BTAConnect linked clients with their travel management company and American Express Customer Services in one online portal.
The corporate card company - which is adding the new features free of charge - said the improvements were introduced in response to customer demand.
Andrew Buckley, Amex Corporate Services vice president for marketing, said: "We developed this new online service to meet a growing demand from our customers for a more streamlined reconciliation solution.
"Feedback from the recent pilot test of this tool revealed that customers value the fact reconciliation is both more efficient and simpler with BTAConnect. The system is very intuitive so users can just log in and get started straightaway."
BTA is a virtual lodge account that allows corporates to charge multiple travel expenses through one central account.
American Express said it was in the process of adding more features to the product.
It said users would soon be able to link e-invoices from TMCs to transactions in the online portal, meaning customers would no longer have to match these manually.
The upgraded online system is now available free of charge to all new and existing American Express BTA customers.
