Global distribution system Amadeus has partnered with car rental firms Hertz and Sixt
Amadeus will provide corporate travellers with the ability to book their desired car rental via direct links through Amadeus” new system”Amadeus e-Direct Connect for Cars.
The system is fully integrated with corporate travel management companies” systems.
In other news Amadeus has signed over 70 hotels to its Best Available Rate programme since it launched in February. The scheme means that participating hotels guarantee to supply Amadeus with rates that are the same or lower than those available through other distribution systems, branded websites or hotel”s own call centre.
Brands that have joined up so far include Accor, Dorchester Group, Hilton, Hyatt, Kempinski, Leading Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Raffles, Thistle and Travelodge among others.
Amadeus has also appointed a new director for its Airline Business Group. Arnaud Debuchy will head airline account management and sales in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Debuchy moves across from Amadeus Travel Intelligence Unit, where he has been director since 2004. Prior to that he was Amadeus UK and Ireland managing director.
Dubuchy takes over from David Doctor who will lead Amadeus” airline distribution and low cost carrier business units.
