eTravel targets corporate traveller
Amadeus has unveiled new car rental reservation facilities as part of the latest update to its online booking tool (OBT).
The travel technology provider said buyers using its eTravel Management solution will benefit from optimised billing and booking services for their preferred rental suppliers.
New features include the use of supplier charge cards and a text comment box allowing a travel buyer to specify any special needs.
Equipment "relevant to business travel", such as satellite navigation and snow tyres, can now be booked as extras, Amadeus said.
Hertz Europe's vp sales Fabrice Quinquenel, said Amadeus had committed itself to delivering car rental on a global scale.
Real-time booking and more efficient billing would result in cost-savings for its customers, Mr Quinquenel said.
Frank Palapies, Amadeus's head of global commercial operations, said a focus on corporate travel programmes was invaluable to its car rental partners.
Mr Palapies said the new features would help corporates to "enforce their car rental company policy."
Amadeus said it plans to enhance its OBT by investing in "next generation technology" such as new mobile solutions.
