Ian Allan Travel has renewed its agreement with Amadeus for another three years.
The deal means Amadeus will continue to be the main travel technology provider for the travel management company (TMC) – building on a nine-year relationship.
Pat O’Neill, Ian Allan’s managing director, said the firm had inspected other avenues when the time came to renew the contract.
“We used this renewal as an opportunity to investigate the claims of other travel technology providers in the market,” he said.
“Having seen what is available through Amadeus’ competitors, our conviction that we are already with the best technology partner was confirmed.”
Amadeus’ ability to offer a single passenger name record (PNR) was among the reasons for the renewal, said O’Neill.
“[It] is hugely beneficial during crises such as the volcanic ash cloud,” he said.
The TMC has also worked with Amadeus’ customer solutions and delivery team to streamline its automated processes.
Tim Russell, managing director of Amadeus for the UK and Ireland said he wished more companies would take a “fresh look” at the technology that is available in the market.
He said: “When you consider how much technology has changed over the past 9 years since we started working with Ian Allan Travel, it demonstrates just how much both companies have successfully adapted to the changing needs of corporate travel.
“We are confident that our advanced and proven technology will continue to assist Ian Allan Travel in achieving their strategic ambitions.”
