Walsh International Travel has been bought by US-headquartered travel management company (TMC) Altour.
London-based Walsh Travel works in both the business and leisure travel sectors.
With the acquisition Altour, which also has operations based in London, will increase its UK turnover to more than £40 million.
The sale will be complete by December 1, but the Walsh brand, which has been trading since 1984, will be retained, operating as a separating business division within the Altour Group
Nigel Parkinson, Altour’s UK general manager, said he is "thrilled by the opportunity to further develop Altour's European profile and sees this acquisition as enhancing the overall value proposition”.
Altour remains on the acquisition path, he added: "It has long been ALTOUR's objective to grow our European footprint to complement the US business.
“We see this as part of a continuing development program and would welcome the opportunity to engage in dialogue with interested trade parties.”
