Air France-KLM will offer 52 new services for the 2017-2018 winter season, increasing capacity by 5.5 per cent compared to last year.
The group’s long-haul network will see a 4.7 per cent capacity increase, with 10 new services to destinations such as Chicago (taken over from Delta), Malé, Atlanta for Air France and Cartagena, Freetown, Mauritius, Minneapolis, Monrovia, Mumbai and San José, Costa Rica for KLM. It is also changing aircraft on other routes, such as Toronto and Mexico City.
Meanwhile, the medium and short-haul network will see 5.5 per cent growth in capacity on 16 new services. Air France will introduce routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Marrakech, Palma de Mallorca and Porto, while KLM will fly from Amsterdam-Schiphol to Catania, Gdansk, Graz, London City, Malaga and Porto. Air France’s regional airline HOP! will also add six new flights.
Lastly, Transavia will see the biggest increase, growing 14.6 per cent with 26 new routes from all of its bases across France and the Netherlands.
The news comes after Air France signed a joint venture agreement with Vietnam Airlines to enhance connections to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Hanoi-Noi Bai and Ho Chi Minh City-Tan Son Nhat.
