Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and Traxo have teamed up to develop a data integration service that captures travellers’ direct airline bookings and sends them to travel risk management applications to address a duty of care ‘blind spot’.
Announcing the solution during the ARC TravelConnect event in Virginia, the companies said the service will be available to all ARC-participating airlines, which in turn can offer the capability to corporate clients.
After a corporate customer enrols for the service with their preferred carrier, the itinerary and traveller details about their employees’ bookings made directly with the airline are routed by Traxo to the appropriate travel risk management application. From that point, flight changes and cancellations are automatically processed, ensuring the duty of care provider has up-to-date information on the staff member’s plans.
United Airlines is the first airline to participate with Traxo and ARC in the solution, and Traxo said it expects to make the service available to other carriers in early 2020.
The companies said the solution will allow corporates to give their employees more flexibility on where they book trips while still providing visibility into their movements.
Traxo founder and CEO Andres Fabris commented: “Traxo and ARC have combined their expertise to partner in assisting corporations in safeguarding the wellbeing of all their travellers, even those who choose to book their business flights directly with an airline. By ensuring flight itinerary details from direct bookings are seamlessly routed to a company’s duty of care provider, airlines can empower corporations in delivering comprehensive risk management coverage for their employees.”
ARC executive vice president and COO Lauri Reishus added: “With unpredictable events a part of everyday life, it’s more important than ever that those responsible for employee business travel have a precise view into where their travellers are at any given time. ARC is pleased to join Traxo and offer this unique service to our airline clients to help ensure that no matter how a business traveller books their flight, their organisation’s duty of care provider knows their location and flight itinerary to react quickly and support them if needed.”
