A new independent agency dedicated to serving the business travel needs of small to medium sized companies (SMEs) has been launched, operating under the American Express licence.
Avexia Voyages is the second partner travel agency in the American Express network, and has more than 130 employees who were previously serving small companies at American Express Voyages d”Affaires, based in 11 sites around France. It will be operated by Christophe Derumez, previously vice president sales, relationship management and marketing at Voyages d”Affaires.
”The future of business travel management is in offering value and service to clients, and our flexibility to partners to provide market leading products and service, globally and locally, is of utmost importance to us,” said American Express Business Travel EMEA and global foreign exchange services senior vice president David Herrick.
”Companies are continuing to scrutinise their travel budgets for savings, while seeking to maintain vital business travel in an increasingly global corporate environment. Clients are increasingly turning to us for help and our innovative business models will assist us in providing service exceeding expectations.”
Avexia Voyages CEO Derumez added: ”Avexia Voyages has been launched because the SME segment needs a dedicated and personalised service. We are the first and only independent travel agency which can deliver a dedicated service for local, regional and national needs, while offering the capabilities of a recognised worldwide leader in the sector, American Express.
”My goal is to develop the business and significantly increase sales by 10% by the end of 2009.”
