Virgin Trains has launched a new ticket aimed at small groups of between three and eight people travelling together on the same train.
The first two passengers pay a full Advance fare, while the next three to eight passengers get a 10% discount on that fare.
The launch of the new product comes in response to Virgin Trains reporting an increase in passengers traveling at weekends to events, such as sports matches, but the ticket could also be used for business travel, travel to conferences and corporate events.
Says Jim Rowe, Senior Communications Manager at Virgin Trains, "Quicker journey times, no traffic, free WI-FI and now cheaper tickets - what better way to make a journey!"
Seats are subject to availability and must be booked by 23:59 one day before travel. Tickets are non-refundable, and no change of journey is permitted.
