Virgin Trains has announced a partnership with national pay-by-the-hour car club WhizzGo to provide what it says is a cost-effective and time-efficient service for UK business travellers.
Virgin customers will receive discounted WhizzGo membership when they book train tickets online providing a ”more convenient and easy way to travel between destinations.”
The scheme will enable Virgin Train customers to book a WhizzGo pay-by-the-hour car online or by phone, making it quicker and simpler to drive on arrival at their destination.
Travellers will receive a smart card allowing them to access their car from the designated car club bay adjacent to the station, saving time and paperwork at a hire desk.
The cars will be ready-fuelled to drive at the traveller”s leisure and once the trip is finished, the customer returns the vehicle to the WhizzGo bay before continuing with the journey home by train.
”The partnership is seen as pivotal to business travellers who do not have time to worry about drawn-out booking procedures and are looking for uncomplicated, cost-effective car hire upon arrival at their business destination by train.” said Virgin Trains, head of media, Jim Rowe.
The scheme will operate at train stations in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.
