Uber is eliminating about 3,700 full-time positions from its
customer support and recruiting teams, about 14 per cent of its workforce, the
company reported in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has also agreed to waive his base
salary for the rest of this year. The company, which has already instituted a
hiring freeze, cited "lower trip volumes" in the decision to
eliminate the positions in the filing.
