Singapore Airlines has teamed up with two UK rail companies giving travellers the opportunity to arrange their flights and rail fares under one booking.
First Great Western, Heathrow Express and Singapore Airlines have launched the UK’s first rail-fly partnership, which enables travellers from 11 southwest destinations, including Bath, Bristol and Cardiff to travel on one ticket.
This is the first “through ticketing” of its kind in the UK. Customers travelling from the southwest region will board a First Great Western train to London Paddington, from there they will use the Heathrow Express train service and then board a Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore and beyond.
Singapore Airlines general UK and Ireland manager Wilson Yong said the initiative will help simplify long-haul travel for its customers.
“We are proud to launch an industry first and help bring the southwest to Asia and the rest of the world,” said Yong. “The UK is a market of great importance to exclusively and conveniently book their trains and flights in one transaction.”
