Travel sustainability specialist Trees4Travel announced the introduction of new Scope 1&2 and SECR reporting at Business Travel Show Europe today, as well as a new partnership with ground transport company CMAC Group.
The company will now provide formatted monthly carbon use reports that are compliant with the UK’s Scope 1&2 and SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) to its corporate customers currently partnering with Trees4Travel via their travel management company.
Trees4Travel says an estimated 11,900 companies in the UK are required to provide carbon reporting but many still struggle to provide necessary documentation.
The company has also launched Quick Quote, a fixed monthly carbon compensation plan for businesses that is recalculated annually based on business travel activity over the previous 12 months.
Meanwhile, ground transport company CMAC Group has partnered with Trees4Travel as part of a wider sustainability strategy. The organisation has pledged to become carbon neutral by the end of 2023.
The partnership will see Trees4Travel calculate and plant the number of trees necessary to absorb the CO2 emissions produced by CMAC employees’ travel, as well as enabling it to facilitate the offsetting of its customers’ emissions through tree-growing projects.
“Sustainability in business travel is playing an increasing role in how organisations think about social responsibility and how they manage day-to-day operations,” says Peter Slater, CMAC Group CEO.
“We are committed to adopting sustainable working policies and practices which encourage our employees to lessen their impact on the environment. We are also introducing a range of new environmental initiatives which support our clients’ approaches to sustainability, such as Trees4Travel, whilst still ensuring they have access to flexible vehicle solutions and full location coverage.”
