French travel management company Travel Planet has agreed a distribution deal with Spanish domestic rail operator Iryo.
The agreement will see Iryo’s high-speed train services being made available on Travel Planet’s booking portals.
In a statement, Travel Planet said the new direct connection with Iryo had been enabled by its technology subsidiary Makitizy, which will also offer Iryo content through its white-label software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
Fabrice Jacquet, business development manager at Travel Planet, said: “We are delighted to integrate an innovative Spanish railway operator and to continue to enrich our train offer.
“This interconnection promotes the use of a more sustainable mode of transport while ensuring a centralised, seamless and consistent booking experience. We continue our ambition: to make train reservations simple and transparent.”
Iryo, which was launched in 2022, offers services between Madrid and Barcelona, as well as to destinations including Seville, Malaga, Alicante, Valencia, Zaragoza and Cordoba.
Guillermo Turner, sales director at Iryo, said: “This partnership with Travel Planet-Makitizy allows us to make our network even more accessible to business travellers and to strengthen our position in the European market.”
Earlier this year, Iryo expanded its presence in the Amadeus global distribution system to seven key markets: the UK, Germany, France, Italy, United States, Mexico and South Korea.
