A new direct TGV train service from Paris to Barcelona is due to begin next month.
Tickets for the high-speed train run by French rail operator SNCF have gone on sale this week ahead of the service’s launch on December 15.
There will initially be two services per day in each direction with the Paris-Barcelona journey scheduled to take 6 hours 25 minutes. The train will also stop at Girona.
The double-decker TGVs will depart from Paris’ Gare de Lyon station at 07.15 and 14.07 local time, with arrival to Barcelona’s Sants station at 13.40 and 20.40 respectively.
The return journeys depart Barcelona at 09.20 and 16.20 with arrival in Paris at 15.53 and 22.45 respectively.
Two more services are scheduled to be added on the route at the end of March 2014.
