Airline Swiss has extended its partnership with SBB Swiss Federal Railways by adding Grindelwald as a new destination to its Air Rail intermodal network.
Grindelwald in the Bernese Alps becomes the carrier’s 25th Air Rail destination across Switzerland, Germany and Austria. The addition has been made possible through a new deal with local train operator Jungfrau Railways, which will operate the rail connection between Interlaken and Grindelwald.
The Air Rail connection to Grindelwald is now available as an option for Swiss’s passengers. The service provides travellers with a single travel document, where their rail ticket is included in their boarding pass.
Swiss, which is part of Lufthansa Group, launched its Air Rail travel partnership with SBB in 2019. It has been gradually adding new rail destinations to the network, including expanding to German rail stations in 2022, including Munich Hauptbahnhof station.
