Eurostar has been forced to cancel all services for the rest of Tuesday due to a fire started by striking staff from My Ferry Link.
The train operator said it had to cancel services through the Channel Tunnel on Tuesday afternoon due to the fire outside the tunnel.
My Ferry Link workers have also blockaded the Port of Calais causing the cancellation of ferry services between Dover and the French city.
“We are currently unable to run any trains through the tunnel due to a fire outside caused by My Ferry Link demonstrators,” said Eurostar in a Tweet.
“We have been advised by Eurotunnel that we will be unable to run any services for the rest of the day. We expect normal service to resume tomorrow.”
Eurotunnel said it had to suspend its own train services through the tunnel due to “French port workers present on our tracks”.
The company added: “We hope to resume services later this evening, but we cannot be sure at what time.”
