Train operator Southern has announced its new executive team, which will lead the company in delivering the commitments of the new South Central franchise which begins on 20 September this year.
Managing Director, Chris Burchell said: "There are many new challenges in the new franchise, which includes significant improvements to customer service and performance. To meet these challenges, a new company-wide structure is needed and the first step in shaping the new organisation is to appoint an executive team which will ensure that our commitments are delivered."
The new Southern executive team and their roles are:
- Alex Foulds - Development Director, responsible for business development and service quality
- To be appointed - Service Delivery Director, responsible for service delivery on our trains and at our stations
- Gerry McFadden - Fleet Director, responsible for the company's engineering activities
- David Scorey - Franchise Improvement Director, responsible for ensuring franchise commitments are met
- Matt Watson - Human Resources Director, responsible for Southern's people
- Bob Mayne - Finance and Contracts Director, responsible for finance, IT and procurement
- Derek Epps - Head of Safety and Operations Standards, responsible for occupational and operational safety standards.
Mr Burchell added: "I am extremely confident that this new team will support me in continuing the success of Southern during the next franchise.
The new roles are effective from the start of the new franchise on 20 September 2009.
