Car rental company Sixt is preparing to open at Argentinean airports. In January the firm will open three outlets at local and international airports plus one downtown office in Buenos Aires. Sixt is working with regional franchise partner Transportes Furlong and will initially offer 40 vehicles.
The company said it ”aims to establish a network of car rental offices with some 1,000 vehicles in the next five years.” In other news the company is expanding its deal with Austrian Airlines. The continuation of the tie-up will allow Austrian”s customers to book Sixt car rental through the airline”s call centre.
Corporate customers and travel agencies will be given more of a focus, especially when flying in or out of Vienna airport. In other news Sixt is continuing its Indian expansion. After opening branches in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Puna, Sixt has launched a vehicle-leasing venture with ICIC Bank via a franchise partner. The venture enables customised solutions for vehicle financing and solutions for leasing and car-pool management.
Sixt”s goal in India is to grow the fleet to house 1,000 vehicles by the end of this year, and 5,000 vehicles by the end of 2010.
The car rental firm also plans to set up a franchise in Mexico and Uraguay.
