SNCB, the Belgian rail operator, has launched a complete overhaul of its app which includes forecasts of train occupancy for passengers concerned about catching Covid-19 on board a busy train.
The app also now allows passengers to buy discounted 10-journey tickets and first class upgrades in addition to standard rail tickets. It also offers standard features such as journey planning using train, tram, underground and bus, real-time rail timetables and alerts when delays and cancellations occur.
The new app replaces a previous version launched in September that had been criticised for giving inaccurate information about how crowded trains were.
The app, which accepts payment methods such as credit cards, Bancontact, Belfius, KBC and PayPal, is available from the App Store and the Google Play Store.
