Gatwick passengers face days of disruption as rail services are significantly impacted by rail worker strikes.
There will be a severely reduced service December 13, 14 and 16 and no Gatwick Express trains from Brighton to the airport.
The airport said: “We are expecting significant disruption to rail services to and from Gatwick on 13, 14 and 16 December due to a train drivers strike. There will be no Southern trains and reduced Gatwick Express services.
“Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport. You may want to consider alternatives methods of transport.”
Heathrow
Passengers using the London Underground service to Heathrow also face disruption with the continued delays on the Piccadilly Line as trains are taken out of service for urgent repairs.
“We have had to take some Piccadilly line trains out of service to repair their wheels, which means that we do not have a full fleet available,” Transport for London said in a statement.
“Therefore, a reduced service is operating on the Piccadilly line. Please allow extra time for your journey or consider using other routes.
“We are working around the clock to make the wheels safe, so that we can return to a good service as quickly as possible.”
