FRENCH MOTORAIL is stepping up its services next summer from Calais to Avignon, Brive, Narbonne, and Nice. The Calais ” Avignon ” Nice train will also serve Fr”jus/St Rapha”l, an ideal stopping-off point for the western end of the C”te d'Azur and resorts such as St Tropez. Specially designed car-carrying wagons will accommodate most 4x4 vehicles and people carriers up to a maximum height of 1.80m. Sleeping accommodation is in the form of individual air-conditioned, four or six-berth couchette compartments. The service is being promoted with emphasis on the extra days holiday gained and the saving on fuel, motorway tolls and overnight hotel bills.
