M6 TOLL ROAD will open in January, Britain”s first toll motorway. The 27-mile road will bypass some of the most congested junctions in the whole of the UK including the notorious Spaghetti Junction. The toll system will place vehicles into different categories and charge separate rates for each category depending on the size of the vehicle. Rates will also alter according to the time of day, with day and night tariffs. The road will also have, what is being promoted as, the most advanced motorway service area in the UK. Road Chef Norton Canes is set in 68 acres of landscaping, and offers a broad range of facilities from shops and restaurants to a Travel Inn for overnight accommodation and a Touchbase business meeting centre.
