Southern, has increased the number of services to London”s Kensington Olympia with the introduction of an East Croydon-Kensington Olympia route during the morning peak period.
The new service leaves East Croydon at 07:47 and calls at Selhurst, Streatham Common and Balham, before arriving at Clapham Junction (08:10), then West Brompton (08:15) and finally Kensington Olympia at 08:19.
Having reached its final stop, it then begins a shuttle service between Clapham Junction and Kensington Olympia that also calls at West Brompton, with three southbound trains leaving Olympia at 08:24, 08:58 and 09:29 and two northbound leaving Clapham at 08:43 and 09:14.
The extra morning shuttles will help those exhibiting at Earls Court 1 & 2 and Olympia”s National Hall, who previously had to wait for half an hour between services from 08:30 to 09:30 for Silverlink trains from Clapham Junction.
Kensington & Chelsea Chamber of Commerce chairman, Francis Aaronson (pictured second from right), welcomed the news on behalf of local businesses looking to ease the journeys to work for their employees. West London Line Group chairman, Mark Balham (pictured centre left), added: ”This is a tremendous step forward in strengthening this increasingly important cross-London service.”
