An extra 15,000 seats a month are being added to the Heathrow Connect service linking the airport with central London.
Since its 2005 launch passenger numbers on the rail service have more than doubled every year, so an extra carriage is being added to each of the 518 weekly journeys, increasing seating capacity by 74 - from 271 to 345 - on each service.
”Passengers are guaranteed a seat no matter what time of day they travel, meaning they can travel around London in the most convenient way without having to struggle with traffic and car parking,” said Heathrow Connect managing director Brian Raven.
It”s a half-hour journey from the airport into Paddington, with a link to the London Underground at Ealing Broadway too. Other stations en route are West Ealing, Hanwell, Southall and Hayes & Harlington.
From March 2008 the faster Heathrow Express service ” which takes 15 minutes from T1, 2 and 3 to Paddington - will also run to the new T5. Then only Heathrow Connect will serve T4.
