Heathrow Express claims to be the first train operator to offer an iPhone app, enabling passengers to receive tickets direct.
The free app enables a barcode to be sent to the smartphone, removing the need to collect paper tickets at the station. The app also features live service updates and has been accredited by Barclays. It accepts all major credit and debit cards except Maestro.
Heathrow Express managing director Richard Robinson said: “We have used the smooth interface and exceptional visual quality of the iPhone to create an easy to use app.”
The train operator already offers a similar app for Blackberry users.
