Heathrow Express, the non-stop rail link between the airport and London Paddington has extended its advertising campaign ”Amazing isn”t it?” on its taxi share scheme with the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association.
The scheme enables people to depart more quickly at a reduced fare to central London destinations during morning peak periods, when vehicle availability is scarce.
The scheme has been running since 1998 and has seen more than 668,000 travellers sharing a taxi.
As part of the advertising campaign, 166 taxis located in London will re-show the message ”You can get from London Paddington to Heathrow in 15 minutes”.Amazing isn”t it?”
”Taxis are such a fun and effective medium to advertise on and they provide an opportunity for us to target our core audience from both sides of the streets,” said Airport Express Alliance sales and marketing director, Kyle Haughton.
The taxi share scheme operates from Paddington Station between 08h30 and 10h30 Monday to Friday (peak hours). Fares are as follows: W1 (N) ”4.50, W1(S) ”5, WC1 ”6, WC2 ”2, SW ”6, City (N) ”8, City(S) ”8.
”Heathrow Express”s relationship with the Taxi Association has grown from strength to strength during the last few years in particular through our taxi share scheme, which has seen 40-75% people depart more quickly, at a reduced fare, to central London,” added Haughton.
The Heathrow Express Paddington Taxi Sharing Scheme is regulated and the zone fares are set by Transport for London
To book a taxi share, passengers collect a destination zone voucher from Share Marshals at the taxi queue at Paddington.
