Corporate ground transportation company Gett and India-based
mobility platform Ola have announced a strategic partnership that will allow
Gett’s clients to access Ola’s services in London to request on-demand rides.
From September, corporate clients will be able to access Ola’s
ride-haling platform through the Gett Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform to
request on-demand private hire vehicles across London. This will be served
alongside Gett’s existing access to black taxis and pre-booked cars.
Both Gett and Ola said they have seen an increase in demand
from corporates following the easing of lockdown restrictions in the UK. In
June, the firms reported 89 per cent of their pre-Covid volumes compared to 67
per cent in April and 74 per cent in May.
Ola, which officially launched in London in February 2020
following its UK debut in 2018, recently rolled out Ride Safe UK to raise
safety standards in the ride-hailing market and has committed £50 million
across its business over the next 12 months to improve its own safety
standards, including £20 million in the UK. The company has also introduced its
new Ola Safety Guidelines, which require drivers to clean and disinfect cars
between each ride.
