GATWICK promotions offering cut-price parking and inclusive rail prices are not normally noted by ABTN (nor at other airports). ABTN does not usually mention promotional fares (there are just too many). However train operators First Great Western and First Great Western Link have come up with a real initiative in launching a new flat-rate fare allowing holidaymakers to leave their car behind when jetting off on their summer holidays. Called ”Airport Flyaway”, the fare allows up to four adults to travel at any time, in many cases for less than the cost of car parking at the airport. The two train companies run services from South Wales, South West England, the Cotswolds, the Malverns and the Thames and Kennet Valleys to Reading, from where First Great Western Link operates an hourly service to the airport. The Airport Flyaway fare covers up to four adults, while children aged between five and 15 travel for ”1 and is available from staffed stations and Telesales on 08457 000 125.
