The journey time between Nantes and Bordeaux has been cut to
4 hours and 7 minutes, a reduction of 41 minutes, after the completion of 19
months of works to modernise the section of the route between La Roche-sur-Yon and
La Rochelle, French rail operator SNCF has announced.
Three daily intercity services and one slower TER service are
now operating on the route following the completion of the €155.5 million project,
which has been financed by the Pays de la Loire and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine départements.
