Agents will be able to offer pre-booked travel on services provided by the Airport Express Alliance from this May.
The deal is the result of co-operation between sales and distribution company, Hahn Air and Amadeus that will allow customers the option of ordering rail connections to and from Heathrow/Gatwick airports using the Express services.
”It is crucial that airport express service providers are able to handle airline compatible sales processes that make use of the same tools travel agencies typically work with,” said Hahn Air CEO, Hans Nolte.
”In a 100% e-ticketing world, this means having introduced full-scale e-ticketing on their services as well as having interline e-ticketing agreements in place with the airlines.”
Using the p-go 169 Rail system, Hahn Air says that it will be able to combine a ticket print-out with e-ticket data and revenue accounting flow.
”By displaying on the prime airline display, we are enabling airport express railways to be where the customer needs to find them ” at the point of sale worldwide,” said Amadeus director of rail business unit, travel services & leisure, Diane Bouzebiba.
”Feedback from customers also indicated that they wanted to be able to book rail tickets when booking flights,” added Airport Express Alliance sales and marketing director, Kyle Haughton.
