Eurostar is to open ticket sales tomorrow (March 15) for its new route from London to Bordeaux.
The new high-speed service is due to start on July 2 and will cut journey time by more than one hour thanks to a new rail line in France.
Passengers will travel from London’s St Pancras station to Gare du Nord in Paris before transferring to Montparnasse station to connect with a local high-speed train to the centre of Bordeaux.
Eurostar said the fastest journey time will be 5 hours, 55 minutes. The new high-speed line between Paris and Bordeaux will reduce journey times from 3 hrs 15 mins to 2 hrs 5 mins.
Nick Mercer, commercial director at Eurostar, said: “With the new high-speed line, passengers will benefit from a more civilised way to travel with city-centre-to city-centre travel, a generous baggage allowance and superior comfort on board our new trains.”
Eurostar's fares from London to Bordeaux will start from £110 return.
