Dot2Dot has extended the operating hours of its door-to-door transfer service between Gatwick Airport and central London.
Having started last November, it previously ran between 05:00 and 14:00 in order to meet the high concentration of flights arriving from North America during that period ” but will now run until 23:00, ensuring passengers arriving from across Europe at all hours will be able to get to their hotels.
”We are extending our operating hours in response to feedback from our existing passenger base who value the speed, convenience and value of our service from Gatwick Airport,” said Dot2Dot managing director, Paul Whitfield. ”We have also had massive interest from people travelling to and from Europe for the service.”
The company started services from business and residential addresses for the first time earlier this month, but only from Canary Wharf to Heathrow Airport.
Next month the company plans to pick-up from residential addresses in central London also, and has previously indicated it will extend this to places of business in the area by the end of the year.
Dot2Dot says its service ”combines the efficiency of the Gatwick Express train with the business class comfort of our customised shuttles.” Passengers are escorted to and from the station by staff, and are assisted with luggage throughout the journey.
Prices start from ”20 ($39) per person, and to shave journey times the fleet is able to use city bus lanes to avoid congestion, while every vehicle receives live traffic data to help avoid any disruption.
