Eurostar is experiencing disruption today (Saturday May 15), following "an incident involving a Eurotunnel shuttle service".
According to the high-speed rail operator's website, the incident caused "a temporary closure of the tunnel", resulting in services running with "significant delays".
Eurostar says it is hopeful it will be able to run "most, if not all" of its services today, "although the knock on effect means these delays will continue throughout the day".Anyone deciding not to travel can obtain a refund of exchange their ticket at the original point of purchase.The operator has not given the exact reason for the disruption on its website, but according to the BBC website Kent police said a CO2 sensor had been triggered on a freight train shortly after 0700 BST, "setting off an emergency procedure in which all people are evacuated".
