DOCKLAND LIGHT RAILWAY users will be pleased to learn that DLR has now confirmed 15 December for the start of services to King George V (which includes London City Airport) with test running under way, this two unit train spotted near LCY. The official opening will take place in January, when the Mayor returns from holiday. DLR has also revealed that in 2009, when the under Thames link to Woolwich is completed, it will takeover the line between Canning Town and Stratford, all well in time for a direct service from the airport to the centre of the 2012 Olympic complex. The existing track through Silvertown to the North Woolwich ferry will then close.
