CrossCountry, part of transport group Arriva, has extended availability of ‘Advance on the Day’ tickets to corporate customers using thetrainline.com’s booking system.
The rail operator’s initiative gives customers the chance to buy discounted advance tickets up to half an hour before their train departure time.
CrossCountry’s commercial director, David Watkin, said: “These tickets will offer savings against the “walk up” fares currently available on the day of travel so if a business customer has to buy last minute, they’ll still be able to save with CrossCountry.
Trainline.com’s head of distribution, Ian Cairns, said: “In a world where businesses and business travellers are more focussed than ever on time and cost savings the extension of Advance on the Day really delivers on both fronts.”
The Cross Country network is one of the most extensive passenger rail franchises in Britain. It delivers 295 services every weekday, equating to about 32 million passenger journeys a year.
